Sarah at 5 Months

Look who wants to sit up by herself?! Sarah is well on her way to soon be sitting independently. Just this week (in fact, exactly on her 5 month birthday!) she figured out how to sit in her bouncer seat and now sits like this all the time! I think she likes the improved view she has compared to view when she sits back and lounges.

Sarah has become so much more interactive with us in these past few weeks. She has a smile that can light up the room and giggles that help turn even the most difficult day into a joyful one. And she finds her sister endlessly enjoyable to observe and laugh at. She keeps busy grabbing toys and especially loves those that make noise when she plays. She also likes to reach for our hands and hold our fingers when talking with us. Another new discovery has been her feet. She reaches for her toes at every opportunity! She rolled over from back to front for the first time earlier this month, but has not been practicing that skill very much…most likely because she has been bundled up under blankets to keep warm during the exceptionally cold weather.

She also had her first real illness – a touch of bronchitis. Thankfully no fever…but just a nasty cough that disturbed her most at night. We are very glad she is feeling better again as it is not easy on the parents to hear a little baby cough so aggressively.  She has now returned to a great sleep habits at night, but still likes to have a lot of attention and help to fall asleep at night. During the day, however, she is an easy napper and falls easily asleep. So we can’t complain!

lovely little lady! Just curious, do you still attend the music class? Sarah might enjoy it with her sound preference :)
